Wow! Live shows are back! How exciting?! Thank goodness!
Music Roulette! (aka Stephanie didn’t come up with a playlist for tonight so we’re just doing shuffle with the playlist of songs we’ve played so far in 2017). I told you why I will truly be single forever and about the nightmare date that I went on a week ago. Men my age and older who are single/never married/no kids tend to be a little insane. I have also decided that maybe taking guys home from the bar that I frequent isn’t smart, because if I frequent it, chances are the other guy might too… Tony nominations were announced, asked how you guys feel about that vs. the Broadway Audience Awards because there’s a bit of a discrepancy. Second half of the show, 80s songs that reminded me (and the audience in the chat) of movies that they were featured in.

Floral and Fading – Pierce The Veil
I Want You – Savage Garden
One of Us – Joan Osborne
Bound For The Floor – Local H
Lovefool – The Cardigans
Save Tonight – Eagle Eye Cherry
But Anyway – Blues Traveler

Holding Out For A Hero – Bonnie Tyler
Don’t Go Breakin’ My Heart – Elton John & Kiki Dee
King of Wishful Thinking – Go West
True – Spandau Ballet
Conga – Miami Sound Machine

This week’s playlist is inspired by my friend, “Mr. Jones”. I made Mr. Jones a playlist because I wanted to expose him to these songs, and for him to add them to his playlist at the bar where he works. I am nervous about actually giving him this playlist because I don’t know if you make platonic friends of the opposite sex music playlists (aka mix tapes), so I figured I’d do a test run here and let me know what you think. I also told you about how I saw Sunset Blvd and this amazing new show Bandstand- that I hope wins ALL the awards! Charlene Kaye’s song, Honey, inspired a bit of a rant about how I needed to let a couple of people go. Also told you about this great book that roommate Kelly got me for my birthday: “The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck!”

Come on Eileen – Save Ferris
It’s About The Bike – TalkFine
Jumper – Third Eye Blind

1. We attempted to do a google hangout while live on air, so that you could get a behind the scenes look. That only worked for about an hour- I don’t have strong enough wifi to broadcast and livestream.

2. We played iTunes Roulette and just let it ride, so the playlist was kind of out there, but overall pretty consistently rock. (a few exceptions including Newsies, Sweeney Todd, and Shakira). I’ll update a full playlist later.

3. #that90smovie this week was Drive Me Crazy, we discussed all of the wonderfulness that was Nicole and Chase forming a plan to get back at the people who wronged them and accidentally falling in love. Such a typical teen movie, but such greatness.

4. I shared some doubts about my current projection and my need to shift some focus. It shouldn’t affect the show too much but yeah, it’s time to crack down and get more serious about MY brand.

5. Finally, we had a very in depth conversation about the whole “Fat Shaming” and “health conscious” people that have been popping up all over the internet thanks to a YouTube “comedienne” who sparked an outrage with a video entitled “Dear Fat People”.
Warning: this conversation got VERY real, possible TW? Also some adult language.

The show ran for three hours because from 10-11 we discussed that topic. Clearly we had a lot to say.

The GOOD news is that I was granted a permanent extension, so SBR will now be from 8-11pm eastern on Wednesday nights on renegaderadio.net. We also ended on wishing our very dear friend, Breanna Caroline a happy birthday and playing a little Teenage Dream by Darren Criss. 😉
