Wow! Live shows are back! How exciting?! Thank goodness!
Music Roulette! (aka Stephanie didn’t come up with a playlist for tonight so we’re just doing shuffle with the playlist of songs we’ve played so far in 2017). I told you why I will truly be single forever and about the nightmare date that I went on a week ago. Men my age and older who are single/never married/no kids tend to be a little insane. I have also decided that maybe taking guys home from the bar that I frequent isn’t smart, because if I frequent it, chances are the other guy might too… Tony nominations were announced, asked how you guys feel about that vs. the Broadway Audience Awards because there’s a bit of a discrepancy. Second half of the show, 80s songs that reminded me (and the audience in the chat) of movies that they were featured in.

Floral and Fading – Pierce The Veil
I Want You – Savage Garden
One of Us – Joan Osborne
Bound For The Floor – Local H
Lovefool – The Cardigans
Save Tonight – Eagle Eye Cherry
But Anyway – Blues Traveler
All For You – Sister Hazel
Closing Time – Semisonic
Ironic – Alanis Morissette
Hunger Strike – Temple of the Dog
Shine – Collective Soul
All Out of Love – Air Supply
Heat of The Moment – Asia
Holding Out For A Hero – Bonnie Tyler
Don’t Go Breakin’ My Heart – Elton John & Kiki Dee
King of Wishful Thinking – Go West
True – Spandau Ballet
Conga – Miami Sound Machine

This week’s show prominently featured new music from Tyler Glenn (of Neon Trees), I saw Tyler at Mercury Lounge on Tuesday night and I feel it is very important to share his upcoming album (Excommunication) with the world. I’ve been a fan of Tyler Glenn for over 6 years and I am incredibly proud of him.

While compiling the songs to share with you, I figured I’d throw in some of my other faves as well. We discussed “Let’s Spend the Night Together” by Ms. Pamela Des Barres, which led to a lengthy discussion about groupies and rock and roll.

Also talked a bit about Constantine Maroulis and played some of his stuff. Please have a listen, enjoy!

We started the show with a small tribute to Prince- which turned into a discussion about fan elitism.

I read an excerpt from the book, Kill The Boy Band, by Goldy Moldevsky.
Got me discussing my own writing possibilities and I shared an idea that Anna and I had a few years ago.

Playlist was interesting.

Let’s Go Crazy – Prince
Gone Away – The Offspring
Turn It Off – Paramore
Songs I Can’t Listen To – Neon Trees
Missing – Flyleaf
A Million Years – Charlene Kaye
Can’t Wait To Say No – TalkFine

and as always we began and ended with the wonderful Side B Radio Jingle provided by TalkFine.

Catch you next week!
